Minot State covers The B.O.G.
Minot, ND — Minot State University published a feature on October 21, 2026, about The B.O.G., the Grain & Thunder television pilot shot in Minot. The story, “MSU connections help bring local talent together for television pilot,” looks at how a cast and crew of MSU staff, faculty, alumni and former students came together around the project.
The B.O.G. is a dark comedy about a lonely man who starts a men’s support group in a church basement. The group spreads into chapters across the region, and he learns his safe space has taken on a life of its own. The pilot, “All For One,” follows a member who suspects his wife is hiding something.
“…made our $100 budget look like $100,000.”
— Derek Olson, on the community support behind the pilot, quoted by Minot State University
Olson hopes to shoot a full season in Minot with adequate funding, casting local actors and non-actors. Read the full story at minotstateu.edu, and see more about the series on The B.O.G. page.
