Battle of the
Rumblehorn

A bullfighter takes a black bull shoulder-first in front of the Battle of the Rumblehorn banner

Freestyle bullfighting has no rider. A bullfighter steps into the arena alone with the bull, and the judges split the score between them: half for the fighter's poise, skill and agility, half for the bull's aggression. The Battle of the Rumblehorn brought two nights of it, plus bull riding, to the North Dakota State Fair in Minot.

We covered both nights for Arena Wear and cut the event while it was still running. The night-one highlight film was finished at 2:20 a.m., with five vertical socials done by 3. On championship night, the winner socials were finished about 80 minutes after the last ride.
